SAP vs Proboot
SAP is considered the world standard ERP for large corporations. International footwear brands run on SAP too: thousands of SKUs, dozens of factories and in-house teams of SAP consultants. For a Ukrainian factory the question is different: how much time and money it takes to adapt SAP to your workshop.
What matters to a footwear factory and how it looks in SAP
For corporations SAP offers S/4HANA, for smaller businesses SAP Business One. There is also an industry solution for apparel and footwear (SAP Fashion Management) with size grids, but it is designed for brands with a network of factories and stores. In Ukraine, SAP implementation, localisation and support are done by integration partners.
Implementation
Through a certified partner, with consultants and a requirements spec. Timelines run to months.
Language and support
Documentation and community are mostly in English, with support in Ukrainian through a partner.
Ukrainian specifics
Delivery notes, Nova Poshta waybills, hryvnia in documents while prices are in dollars: all of this has to be configured or developed.
People on the shop floor
SAP was built for offices and factory automation, not for a supervisor handing out work to stitchers.
What Proboot does
Proboot is built on ten years of work with footwear factories, so footwear logic is already in the system:
- Size runs, tech cards with per-size norms and production stages are there from day one; nothing needs designing.
- Prices in dollars, documents in hryvnia. The rate is fixed on the document date and never changes retroactively.
- Shipping with a carton breakdown, Nova Poshta waybill, delivery note and packing list.
- Interface in Ukrainian, Russian and English. Support straight from the Proboot team.

If you already use SAP
When SAP is the better choice
If you are part of an international group and head office already runs SAP, or you make tens of thousands of pairs a week and have your own consultants, then one system for the whole group matters more than launch speed. For everyone else SAP is too big a tool for the job of "knowing how many pairs and how much money".
How to switch
We handle the move: we export materials, customers, suppliers and stock from SAP and bring them into Proboot. If you used to keep material norms per product, we build per-size norms together with your technologist. Implementation is remote and our team does the main work.
